Robert Bies Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Bob Bies is an entrepreneurial financial executive with over 24 years of progressive financial experience. Since 1997, Bob has raised over $220 million of funding in the form of private and public equity and debt facilities.
From 1999 to present, Bob has served as Greenfield Online's Chief Financial Officer and helped to guide the company's metamorphosis from a small venture-backed online custom research business to a publicly-traded online survey and comparison shopping business with over $120 million in revenue, $34 million in EBITDA. Bob helped to navigate Greenfield Online through critical periods of development culminating with his management of Greenfield Online's initial public offering in the summer of 2004. In addition, Bob oversaw the M&A process during 2005, in which five companies were successfully merged within the course of six months (Greenfield Online, Opinion Surveys, Rapidata, GoZing and Ciao!). Bob heads up Greenfield Online's Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, investor relations and a world-class finance team. Bob and his team focus on helping to grow the company's businesses profitably and safely while maintaining Greenfield Online's entrepreneurial heritage.
From 1996 to 1999, Bob worked for the venture-backed ERP software and services firm The Janis Group, Inc. (JGI) as Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer, helping this company through very rapid metamorphosis and growth ($45 million to $100 million in revenues in two years) and the development of a unique diversified software, services and hardware product suite for the middle market.
From 1990 to 1996, Bob worked for Bionaire, Inc. Bionaire, Inc. was a publicly traded environmental-air-products company listed on the Montreal Stock Exchange which was merged into The Rival Company in May 1996. Starting in 1990 as Controller for Bionaire USA, Bob was promoted rapidly to Senior Vice President and General Manager, where he headed up sales, marketing, finance and distribution for the $40 million division.
From 1988 to 1990, Bob worked for Faberge/Elizabeth Arden as Controller, and led a team to integrate the two companies post-merger and helped prepare the company to be sold to Unilever in 1990.
From 1984 to 1988, Bob worked for Deloitte Touche in New York , NY where he served as senior auditor until 1988 and served such clients at Merrill Lynch, Kidder Peabody and Faberge/Elizabeth Arden.
Bob holds a B.S. summa cum laude from Long Island University (1982) and an M.B.A. with distinction from Hofstra University (1984) . He is a certified public accountant licensed in New York (1986).
Jonathan Flatow Vice President, Corporate Development, and General Counsel and Secretary
Jonathan Flatow has over 20 years of experience in legal and business operations. He joined Greenfield Online in March 2000 as the Company's Vice President and General Counsel. Jonathan directs Greenfield Online's global legal organization and has been instrumental in the negotiation, structuring and closing of the Company's mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, and commercial relationships. Jonathan is also globally responsible for all of Greenfield Online's human resources functions, focusing on management compensation, performance management and succession-planning activities. Prior to joining Greenfield Online, Jonathan was a partner with the Westport, Conn., law firm of Wake, See, Dimes & Bryniczka, where he concentrated his practice in marketing law, business representation and commercial litigation. Jonathan earned a B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College and a J.D. from the Pace University School of Law and is admitted to practice law in the states of Connecticut and New York.
David St. Pierre Global Chief Technology Officer
David St. Pierre joined Greenfield Online as the company's Chief Technology Officer in 2005. David brings over 20 years of experience working for both large and startup companies; building and delivering enterprise class software and systems. He has worked in the retail, publishing, advertising, aerospace, and manufacturing sectors in rapidly changing technology environments. In 2007, David was promoted to Global Chief Technology Officer expanding his role to encompass the entire global Internet survey solutions business.
At Greenfield Online, David is responsible for the development and delivery of product offerings, IT strategy, architecture, and corporate infrastructure. David developed and rolled out Greenfield Online's global Unified Panel and Survey ("UPS") platform that enable the company to seamlessly manage its global panels and survey operations. Through UPS, the company has improved its operating efficiencies, reduced project cycle times, provided enterprise scale uptime and reliability, and greatly improved both the Greenfield Online client and respondent experience.
Before joining the company, David founded Zaptose Technology, a software solutions provider specializing in consulting and building .NET and J2EE enterprise systems for companies. Prior to that, he spent 5 plus years with Engage as Senior Vice President of Engineering and Product Management. In addition, David previously held management and technical software development positions at Sanga Corp, PictureTel, Kronos, US Data, and General Electric. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Holy Cross College and a Masters of Science in Computer Science from Boston University.
Hugh Davis Cofounder/ Executive Vice President
Hugh Davis is Executive Vice President, and a co-founder of Greenfield Online. Hugh joined Greenfield Consulting Group in September 1992, and in 1994 he co-founded Greenfield Online with Andrew Greenfield. The company was a true industry pioneer at the time; one of the first to use the Internet to conduct marketing research. Hugh has been part of the executive management team since 1994 and has played significant contributing roles in growing the business from a two person start-up to a successful 600+ employee publicly traded company (Nasdaq: SRVY).
Today, Hugh spearheads global initiatives across the organization leveraging new technology to develop product offerings and create business efficiencies to grow the business. Accomplishments in this area include developed Patent # 6,256,663 for the online focus group (click here), Greenfield Online's Real-Time Sampling™ capability and launched the company's Text2express.com wireless panel and numerous other product and technology advancements.
Hugh is an active participant in the research industry and has published numerous papers and is often an expert speaker on online data collection and new market research techniques.
Hugh earned a B.S. in Economics from Fairfield University.
Keith Price Executive Vice President Global Internet Survey Solutions
Keith Price has been with Greenfield Online since October of 1999. He was responsible for developing and executing the strategic initiative to convert Greenfield Online from a full service research company to focus on building the company's online data services and sample offerings. Keith was pivotal in implementing the sales and service strategies to focus on the company's core market, marketing research firms and professionals.
Keith continues to focus on the customer and is responsible for managing the North American sales team, comprising more than 40 individuals. Keith has extensive research experience, specifically in sampling, data collection, and research methodologies. He is an active participant in the research conference circuit and holds membership positions within the MRA, CASRO, ARF and AMA. Keith has worked with a broad base of research clients in the technology sector, the packaged goods industry, media measurement, full-service and public opinion research companies. Prior to joining Greenfield Online, Keith spent five years with Survey Sampling, Inc. Keith is a graduate of Providence College, with a B.S. in Finance.
Daniel Keller Managing Director, Ciao Comparison Shopping
Daniel Keller has served as Managing Director of Ciao GmbH since January 2007. He joined Ciao in May 2005 as Vice President Technology and Operations. In both positions he has been responsible for the product strategy, research and development, technology and all operations of Ciao, preparing the ground for Ciao to get the most visited Comparison Shopping portal in Europe.
From August 2000 to May 2005, Daniel led the technology department of AutoScout24 GmbH, the largest European online car marketplace and was responsible for building and managing its technology, engineering and project management functions. While at AutoScout24 he held the positions of Chief Technology Officer, Head of Development and Project Manager. Prior to August 2000, Daniel directed technology development projects for BMW Group in their manufacturing plants and at the Research and development center of BMW AG.
Daniel earned a Masters degree in Computer Science from Regensburg University of Applied Sciences and an MBA in General Management from University of Augsburg in combination with Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh with distinction.
Stephan Musikant Managing Director, Ciao Comparison Shopping
Managing Director Stephan Musikant joined Ciao in September 2004 as Vice President Sales and Marketing. Since joining Ciao, he has championed the business' merchant expansion, marketing and revenue growth, helping Ciao to become the most visited comparison shopping portals in the European market. In January, 2007 Stephan was promoted to Managing Director, Ciao. Prior to Ciao, Stephan served as Director of Sales for eCircle AG, a leading European provider of Digital Solutions for Direct Marketing. In addition, he was previously Territory Sales Manager Central Europe for DoubleClick, a leading global provider of online advertising solutions. Stephan earned his degree in Business Administration and Engineering from Munich University of Applied Sciences.
Andrew C. Ellis Managing Director, Asia-Pacific
Andy Ellis began his career working for Standard & Poor's Government Group as an economic consultant. Prior to joining Greenfield Online, Andy served as Vice President of Corporate Operations for the country's leading mall-based market research company, Quick Test/Heakin. While at Quick Test/Heakin, Andy's direct responsibilities included operational control over all sales, customer service, marketing, product development and information technology activities. Andy also served on Quick Test/Heakin's Executive Management Committee helping to steer strategic planning for the company. Andy joined Greenfield Online in 2003 as Vice President of Client Development managing sales activities for the company as well as working closely with clients to develop strategic partnering opportunities. In 2004 Andy took over day-to-day control of Greenfield Online's operations as Senior Vice President of Global Operations and joined the company's Executive Management Team. He remained in this role until early 2007 when he became Managing Director of Asia-Pacific and is now charged with expanding the company's reach into the world's fastest growing region. Andy received his BSBA from Creighton University, has served on numerous industry association task forces and has been a speaker at MRA conferences.
